Cyndi Goodjohns’s been in the event industry for over 10 years. She’s been everything from a catering employee, a banquet supervisor, a catering manager, a venue coordinator and planner. She’s been involved in over 1,200 events from a venue, staffing and catering perspective.
In her role as an event manager, Cyndi had the opportunity to work with many event planners. She came across many competent and professional planners, but was frustrated by those who showed up late and were disrespectful. One day she was explaining her frustrations to her partner, Kurt, who said, “Why don’t you do it, then?” That’s when she realized – she had all the knowledge and expertise. Why wasn’t she doing it? From this, Clearway Planning was born.
Cyndi became a certified wedding planner through the Wedding Planner Institute of Canada and launched Cyntherella, the wedding planning side of the business. It all began with weddings, but soon led into corporate event planning. She became a board member for the CMCCC (Catering Manager and Catering Coordinators of Calgary).
Clearway, a street that Kurt lived on in Boston, was the inspiration for the company name. It fit perfectly – Cyndi has created outstanding events for her clients based on a clear vision, clear direction and clear strategy.
